Community Gardens

Haugh Family Preserve - Community Gardens

Established in 2011, the community gardens originally consisted of 61 garden plots and has since expanded to 137. The community gardens are located at 3285 Circleville Road, next to Circleville Park.

Patton Township oversees the management of the gardens and assists with various tasks related to the garden management such as garden plot coordination and communications, and tool inventory and maintenance. The gardens are equipped with two sheds to store tools for all garden renters to use as well as public water. Hoses are not permitted for use at the gardens. Patton Township also supplies compost and wood chips that are for use at the gardens only. A porta-john unit is also available during the growing season (April-October).

Costs associated with renting a plot consist of a $60.00 annual rental fee per plot and a one-time surety deposit of $60.00 per plot. If you choose to no longer rent, your surety deposit may be returned to you upon an inspection of the plot(s) to find that no plantings, materials (i.e. garden matting, cages) or other debris are found.

If you are interested in renting a garden plot at the Haugh Community Gardens, please contact the Township Office by phone at (814) 234-0271 or by email at epz@twp.patton.pa.us. You do not need to be a Township resident to rent a garden plot. Plot rentals are limited to two (2) plots per renter. Each plot measures 20' x 25' (500 square feet). Please note, Patton Township personnel assign the plots; renters cannot choose their own plot.

If the number of requests exceeds the plots available, your name will be added to a waiting list.
