In terms of safety in Patton Township, the area is very low-risk. In 2019, Patton Township was named  #65 on the SafeWise 100 Safest Cities in America List. In 2021, the Township ranked #66 on the alarms.org list for safest cities in Pennsylvania.  

As shown by the cityrating.com Crime Statistics, the majority of criminal incidents that occur in Patton Township are larceny/theft due to the amount of big box stores in our area. Overall, this is a very safe place to call home.   
 
GEOGRAPHY & HOUSING 
 
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Patton Township has a total has a total area of 24.55 square miles. Living in Patton Township offers residents a dense suburban feel with a mix of renters and home owners. In the township there are a lot of parks for leisure and play, with a public dog park nearby in Ferguson Township. With close proximity to the university, the township includes a variety of young professionals, students and long-term homeowners. There is a wide variety of housing for any lifestyle, and finding a place to live is not difficult with over 300 realtors in the State College Area.

SHOPPING & ENTERTAINMENT  
 
As quoted by a resident of Patton Township on niche.com, “State College is an amazing area not only for college kids, but for families as well. There's always something to do, be it a sporting event, community fair, or concert. There are a ton of eating options and a great downtown scene. The town is pretty safe and clean. Penn State also does a lot to get involved with the community, so the two cultures blend well together.”  

Patton Township is home to almost all of the big box stores in the State College area, providing plenty of shopping opportunities for groceries, home essentials, and anything else you may need.  Restaurants and activities for all ages are also never out of reach, no matter what time of year it is.
