Patton Township has a part-time ordinance enforcement officer who patrols the township ensuring that properties are in compliance with our ordinances.  Below are a few of Patton Township’s ordinances that residents should be familiar with.  A complete list of Patton Townships ordinances can be FOUND HERE.

SNOW PARKING

Snow parking regulations and property owner responsibilities related to clearing sidewalks of snow and ice. Please see 167-20B and 149-39 in the Patton Township Code of Ordinances for more information.

Parking is prohibited on Township roadways if a snow emergency has been declared or if the snowfall has reached or exceeded two inches.  Re-parking after the snow is prohibited until the snow emergency has ended.  Residents are also reminded that they must clear the full width of their sidewalks of all snow and ice within 24 hours after the end of a storm.

The Patton Township Police Department would like to thank all Township residents for their cooperation.  This will ensure that our roadways can be properly cleared, and pedestrians can safely walk on the sidewalks within the Township.

GRASS & WEEDS

Unlawful growth of grass, weeds, and other vegetation. This ordinance prohibits a township resident from permitting any grass, weeds, or other vegetation from growing more than six (6) inches in height. Please see 58-1 in the Patton Township Code of Ordinances for more information.

NUISANCES

The running at large section prohibits a person to permit a dog, cat, or any other animal in the nature of a pet, owned by or under the control or supervision of such person, to run at large on property other than that of such owner or keeper, except with the permission of the property owner.

The animal noise section prohibits a person from keeping any animal which disturbs the peace and quiet of the neighborhood by making any noises which would be loud or unusual to a person of ordinary sensibilities.  Please see 52-1 and 52-2 in the Patton Township Code of Ordinances for more information.
