Patton Township Storm Water Management

Patton Township maintains a network of storm water catchbasins, culverts and storm water ponds that are part of it's municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4). This MS4 is part of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) that was enacted with the Clean Water Act (CWA) in 1972. The Township storm sewer network is permitted through the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) for 5 year terms. In order to comply with the Permit the Township  must adhere to certain Minimum Control Measures as identified in the permit. The most recent permit is 2018-2023.

MS4 Partners

Patton Township is part of a coalition, aka. MS4 Partners, of local entities that include State College Borough, Ferguson Township, Penn State, College Township, Harris Township and Spring Township that have MS4 Permits. Together we combine resources to meet the minimum control measures that are mandated by our MS4 Permits.
